Terrorist appeasement watch
Rock-ribbed stalwart conservative Dinesh D'Souza has a new book coming out in which the thesis is that 9/11 is actually the fault of liberals.
Here's the money quote:
The cultural wars at home and the global war on terror are usually viewed as separate problems. In this groundbreaking book, D’Souza shows that they are one and the same. It is only by curtailing the left’s attacks on religion, family, and traditional values that we can persuade moderate Muslims and others around the world to cooperate with us and begin to shun the extremists in their own countries.
I think D'Souza is arguing here that if we as Americans started to take steps at home such as denying gay people their civil rights and enforcing conservative religious values by force of law, that this will somehow mollify the mainstream Islamic "street" and thus their extremists will be less likely to attack us.
And conservatives have the nerve to say liberals favor appeasement of our enemies!
