Don't kill your television, yet
Apple introduced an enhanced iMac today, with a built-in video camera and a nice remote-controlled interface for navigating through music and video. However, according to the technical specifications, this Mac still doesn't have the one obvious feature that would allow me to fully integrate the Mac into a home-entertainment set-up: there's no way to get a television signal directly into the Mac (i.e. there's not a tuner built in). So forget about replacing your actual television or using the Mac as a DVR.
There several decent third-party tools to add DVR-like functionality to the Mac, but with this use being such a brain-dead obvious enhancement, I wonder why Apple has resisted making such a feature a built-in part of the iMac?
